Swanville man arrested after argument with family turns heated
SWANVILLE — A Swanville man was arrested at his home Monday night after Waldo County Sheriff's deputies said he prevented family members from calling police following a domestic disturbance.
Jeff Lindelof, 48, was arrested and charged with obstructing the report of a crime.
According to the Sheriff's Lt. Jason Trundy in a press release Thursday morning, around 9 p.m. July 16, Lindelof and family members got into an argument that escalated to a point where a family member decided to contact law enforcement.
"Jeff Lindelof reportedly disabled the phone so the initial call could not be placed," said Trundy. "The family member was able to contact law enforcement by utilizing a cell phone."
Waldo County Deputy Kyle Wasiela interviewed Lindelof during the investigation and as a result, Lindelof was arrested.
Obstructing report of a crime is a class D misdemeanor. Lindelof was released from Waldo County Jail on $300 unsecured bail.
