A silly billy goat, two vagrant cows, erratic drivers and pot
LINCOLNVILLE — Police Chief Ron Young had a busy day Oct. 10 tending to separate cases of animals hitting the highway in Lincolnville, but he got them all under control and back home without incident.
The first call came in with the report of two aimless and itinerant cows traveling down Camden Road. Young found their owner, who escorted them back to Mullins Bog Road.
A short time later, Young was dispatched to Masalin Road for a report of an injured goat traveling up the road toward the blueberry fields. The Chief located the stray billy goat, which he assessed and determined had not been injured. Instead, Young concluded that the goat had broken through his pen and wandered off. Young transported the stray home to his residence where the goat proceeded to sun himself on his rooftop, enjoying the remainder of the fall day.
Young responded to six animal control complaints during the report activity period. He reminds dog owner that 2013 dog licensing are now available at the Town Office. Take current proof of rabies vaccination. If registering a new dog, take proof of spay or neutering. Fees are: $6 for a spayed or neutered dog; $11 for unaltered dog. All dogs over six months of age are required to be licensed every year. Dogs renewals may also be processed online at www. town.lincolnville.me.us. A rabies clinic will be sponsored by Lincolnville Police Department and will be announced at a future date.
