Rockport’s Commercial Street reopens following three-vehicle crash
ROCKPORT — Two people were transported to a local hospital, Thursday, following a three-vehicle crash in Rockport, that closed a stretch of Commercial Street (Rte 1) for a little more than half an hour.
At 12:24 p.m., Aug. 6, Rockport Fire and Northeast Mobile Health Services were dispatched to Route 1, in front of 680 Commercial Street. According to Police Chief Randy Gagne, one vehicle was struck from behind, forcing that vehicle into oncoming traffic.
Police were still investigating the scene at 1 p.m. when one lane of traffic was reopened to waiting motorists.
Fire units cleared the scene at approximately 1:30 p.m.
