Rockport Library Construction Report, June 17
This week’s report is much like last weeks with the Phi team working on the MANY details that need to get accomplished. While I manage to catch a few of them in action. The photos that follow represent a small portion of the many details that the work on during the week. Frankly, this is where a lot of time is taken up and a lot of this work really does not show up well on photos.
Electricians continue their work on lighting fixtures and other electrical throughout the building and the work continues on the fire suppression system. The sheet rock walls are being taped and “mudded”. Much of this work is being done in the evening to limit the number of people in the building at one time and to allow them to work without being in the way of other work being done.
The clock that will be located on the Russell Ave. gable end is being fabricated and getting ready for installation as is the granite trim and the granite name detail, that will adorn the front of the building. These items are at the stone carver to get cut.
The elevator is scheduled to be installed in late July and the roofing is expected to begin the week of July 1st.
The landscaping bid for the exterior of the building is out and due back by July 3 and expect to be awarded by July 13 for work to be completed over the summer.
