Rockland Police: Rockland man arrested in residential burglary
ROCKLAND — Rockland Police have arrested a city man in connection with a residential burglary on Broad Street this morning, Tuesday.
Kristopher Hillgrove, 28, of Rockland, was charged with burglary-Class B, theft-Class C, receiving stolen property-Class C, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs-Class E and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Rockland Police Officer John Bagley received a report from the Broad Street resident earlier on July 21. The resident reported that she fell asleep on her couch, with her purse beside her. When she awoke, she found that her purse was gone.
Bagley learned that the victim's debit card was used at a local convenience store, and in reviewing the store's surveillance video, he identified the male using the card as Hillgrove.
Hillgrove was located on Broad Street, and arrested. According to the press release, Hillgrove was in possession of marijuana and alprazolam at the time of his arrest, and was unable to produce proof of prescriptions for either.
