Police charge Rockland man with marijuana trafficking
ROCKLAND — Maine Drug Enforcement Agents arrested Darryl Lange, of 686 Main Street in Rockland, for Aggravated Trafficking in Marijuana Class C and Violation of Bail.
Lange was arrested April 27 after a month long investigation by MDEA, Rockland Police Department and Knox Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release from that office.
“The investigation began after complaints to Rockland Police about the amount of traffic in and out of Lange's Main Street apartment,” the release said. “During the investigation, agents observed a lot of traffic in and out of the house, for a very short period of time. A lot of the traffic appeared to be teenage kids.”
Law enforcement conducted a bail check of Lange April 27 after several transactions were observed.
Officers and agents seized approximately one-half pound of marijuana, four grams of hashish, scales, more than $1,000 in cash from drug proceeds, and six marijuana plants.
Some of the marijuana was packaged for resale in gram bags.
Lange was allegedly selling the marijuana for $10 a gram, and was distributing rolling paper to teenage kids to smoke the marijuana.
Lange was arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking Marijuana Class C because he was selling to children under the age of 18. Lange was also charged with VCR as he was on bail from a March arrest by Rockland Police for criminal threatening.
Lange is currently in Knox County Jail with no bail, the release said.
