Paying property taxes during a pandemic, Rockport style
The second half of 2020 real estate and personal property taxes for Rockport property owners is April 15, 2020.
The best way for property owners to pay their taxes is by check either mailed to the Town Office, 101 Main Street, Rockport, ME 04856 or to drop off payments in the drop box at the Town Office.
The drop box is a slot in the side door that faces the parking lot. Credit card payments can be made over the phone by calling the Town Office at 236-9648. If payments are mailed, interest is not charged until May 16th.
The Select Board voted on April 6 to waive interest on personal property and real estate taxes for 30 days. The due date for taxes remains April 15; however, interest will not accrue until May 16. The Board has also given the Town Manager authorization to waive interest on taxes for up to another 60 days if necessary.
