Paving, safety, drainage improvements to slow Route 3 traffic this summer
AUGUSTA — Paving and maintenance work on Route 3 in Waldo County, between Montville to the west and Belmont in the east, will slow traffic through August, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Slow-moving maintenance vehicles will impact travelers, as crews work along a 5.21-mile stretch of road to make maintenance, safety and drainage improvements as well as repaving Route 3. The work is commencing at the western Waldo County end of Route 3 and continuing east toward Belfast.
Drivers are urged to use caution and be mindful of flaggers and temporary signage providing travel information and directions.
The work is underway beginning today, and extends through Aug. 9, according to a DOT press release May 6.
