New canine teams graduate from Maine Criminal Justice Academy

VASSALBORO — Maine's seven newest police canine teams graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy on Friday June 12. The teams have spent the past 14 weeks training in various parts of the state under a number of different scenarios and weather conditions. Five of the teams come from State Police and the two others are from Bangor Police and the Waldo County Sheriff's Office.
The new canine teams are:
- Sgt. Scott Dalton and Haro (Principal K9 State Police Trainer)
- Officer Jamie Fanning and Aki (Bangor Police)
- Tpr. Andrew Levesque and Vitz (State Police Troop F)
- Tpr. Barry Meserve and Doyle (State Police Troop E)
- Deputy Merl Reed and Frankie (Waldo County Sheriff’s Office)
- Tpr. Adam Schmidt and Ibo (State Police Troop A)
- Tpr. Jeff Taylor and Oscar (State Police Troop J)
