As much as a foot of snow possible in Rockland, Camden, Belfast
GRAY — The National Weather Service in Gray has updated the forecast this afternoon and changed its winter weather advisory to a winter storm warning for the entire Maine coast.
The expected track of the storm moved a bit westward Saturday morning, according to the NWS, which should allow for winter storm conditions along the coast tonight and an increase in snowfall across the interior as well.
"The most snow is expected along the Midcoast of Maine," according to the NWS.
The winter storm warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday.
Heavy snow, likely windblow overnight, is expected along the coast, with accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. The snow will continue to overspread the region early Saturday evening, and be heavy at times overnight.
Winds will be north at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph and temperatures in the mid-20s. The NWS is warning of slippery road conditions tonight and into the overnight, with visibility restrictions in anticipated blowing and drifting snow.
