The Maine Department of Transportation plans to close State Route 173 (the Beach Road) between the Camden Road and Youngtown Road for one day on Tuesday, July 21, for a culvert replacement. The rain date is Wednesday, July 22. A detour will be set up diverting traffic via the Youngtown Road and the Camden Road. Directional signage will be in place for the event. Residents in the immediate area of the closure will be able to access their homes as follows: Beach Road #1 through #926 from the east (Route 1 or Youngtown Road end) and Beach Road #938 to #1053 from the west (Camden Road/Main Street end).

Law Enforcement, Fire and Ambulance services have been notified and all services will be available at all times. A request has been made for additional law enforcement presence along the detour route during the event.
