LINCOLNVILLE — Lincolnville police reported the following activity, Nov. 25-Dec. 10. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Nov. 26
Chief Ron Young investigated a reported sex offense complaint on Hope Road involving a male juvenile who had posted explicit content to another juvenile's Facebook account. After meeting with the juvenile and his parents, the juvenile was released to parental custody. No charges were filed in the incident.
Chief Young responded to a reported theft complaint on Hope Road. A laptop computer valued at approximately $450 that was reported stolen from Lincolnville Central School is under investigation.
Nov. 27
Chief Young responded to Belfast Road for a reported welfare check request. The person was not at home but returned later.
Chief Young responded to a reported criminal trespass complaint on Narrows Road. A caretaker reported finding a door to a private residence had been broken and several chairs had been strewn through the yard. The complaint is under investigation.
Chief Young responded to Townhouse Road to assist a motorist with a complaint of a disabled vehicle. The motorist had resolved the problem prior to Young's arrival.
Nov. 28
Chief Young received a reported 911 disconnect complaint on Belfast Road. The call was determined to have been placed in error.
Chief Young conducted a radar detail on Camden Road. One motorist was warned for speed.
Nov. 29
Chief Young received a reported theft complaint of fuel oil being siphoned from an oil tank on Heal Road. The complaint is under investigation.
Dec. 1
Chief Young responded to a reported civil complaint regarding a tenant eviction. After conferencing with the complainant, no further action was necessary.
Chief Young, in conjunction with the Waldo County Humane Society, sponsored a free rabies clinic at the Lincolnville Fire Department on Camden Road. A combined total of 137 dogs and cats were vaccinated and all animals were reported to be well-behaved.
Chief Young responded to a reported suspicious vehicle complaint on Belfast Road. The owner of a vehicle, which had been left abandoned beside the road for two days, was checked on for well-being. The person was fine and the vehicle has since been removed.
Chief Young responded to a reported disturbance complaint on Greenacre Road regarding gunshots fired by a neighbor. It was determined the neighbor was within the legal boundaries to shoot.
Chief Young received a reported alarm activation complaint on High Street. Young was subsequently advised by the security company to cancel the call.
Dec. 3
Chief Young conducted a radar detail on Hope Road at Lincolnville Central School. No violations reported.
Dec. 4
Chief young issued citations to Christine Baird, 59, Lincolnville, for following a motor vehicle too close and failure to provide proof of insurance after she tailgated and then passed Young on Belfast Road while he was driving the Lincolnville Police cruiser.
Dec. 5
Chief Young received a reported motor vehicle complaint of an erratic driver on Atlantic Highway. Young was out of position to answer the call and the complaint was forwarded to Camden Police Department. The vehicle was stopped by Camden police.
Chief Young assisted Rockport Police Department by serving paperwork to a resident on Beach Road.
Dec. 6
Following a traffice offense on Main Street, Chief Young issued citations to Joel Brown, 42, of Hartland, for speeding 35 mph in a 25 mph zone, failure to provide evidence of insurance and operating after suspension following.
