Dear GREAT Children:

 I regret to inform you that we are WITHDRAWING (a.k.a. SNATCHING BACK) the funds approved and already allocated (PROMISED) for your schools and childcare (public and private, by the way) to purchase fresh and nutritious local food over the next three years.  

We are so destitute in America that we can no longer afford $660 million dollars for approximately 72 million children to taste, learn about and explore local foods grown, raised and or caught by farmers and fisherman in your area.  

These hardworking people are also parents, grandparents and community members you all know or would have come to know through this effort.  It is TOO EXPENSIVE to provide you with the taste of fresh apples or fresh potatoes or even a single Maine wild blueberry while you are learning in school or being cared for as your own parents work. Just too darned EXPENSIVE for this GREAT country!  

It was going to cost America about $3.50 per child in American schools and childcare centers each year for three years. And even though that money would be invested directly in your community’s  ability to feed its people (you and your family) healthy nourishing great tasting food… 100% investment back in your own town and neighboring towns and in your health, We CANNOT not do it anymore.  

We are CANCELLING immediately all funds PROMISED through our normal funding processes.    

Please let your farmers and fishermen know that any money of their own that they already invested in equipment, seed, feed for the animals, fishing gear, etc… to feed YOU something fresh and healthy and teach you about taking better care of your GREAT bodies, TOUGH LUCK!  

Tough Luck to them for believing in America’s announcements and bipartisan enactments of spending over the next three years (because the program was so wildly proven and successful… over 25 years in the making!)

We advise you to tell them TOO BAD, SO SAD…. figure it out.  We don’t care about your health and the food resilience and health of your town.
