Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Outstanding arrest warrants, driving to endanger, violating condition of release
The Knox County Sheriff's office received 341 calls for service from May 31-June 6. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
May 31
Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Gina Glidden, 26, of Washington, on a charge of violating condition of release. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Robert Potter conducted a radar detail on Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.
Potter began an investigation of theft on Vinalhaven. This is still an active investigation.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued a summons for speed.
Deputy Paul Spear conducted a county wide seatbelt detail. No violations were noted.
Following a traffic stop on Vinalhaven, Potter issued a summons for operating after suspension.
Jack conducted a seatbelt detail in Warren. Three summonses were issued for same.
June 1
Following a traffic stop in Union, Jack issued a summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and speed.
Jack began an investigation of trespass in Union. The suspect was issued a written notice for same.
Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in Hope involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Hope. The vehicle was located and the operator showed no signs of impairment.
June 2
Potter conducted a radar detail on Vinalhaven. No violations were noted.
Deputy Justin Hills arrested Larry Kelley, 28, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Spear arrested James Benner, 31, of South Thomaston, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Hills arrested Ashley Roman, 28, of Union, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Spear arrested Jonathan Scott, age 22, of Rockland, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was currently incarcerated at the Knox County Jail at the time of this arrest on other charges.
June 3
Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy John Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on North Haven involving a single vehicle. Following this response, the operator was issued summonses for driving to endanger, leaving the scene and criminal mischief. Reportable damage sustained.
Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle. Non-reportable damage sustained.
Spear began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The suspect will be given a warning for same, once located.
Spear began an investigation of harassment in Friendship. The suspect was issued a warning for same and the complainant was issued a warning for dog at large.
Spear arrested Christopher Watson, 39, of Rockland, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.
June 4
Jack began an investigation of trespass in Union. The suspect was located and issued a warning for same.
Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
June 5
Following a traffic stop in St. George, Pinkham issued a summons for speed.
Following a traffic stop in St. George, Pinkham issued summonses for speed and insurance.
Pinkham, Jack and Chief Tim Carroll responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Owls Head involving a single vehicle. This was a fatal accident.
Jack began an investigation of trespass in Hope. The suspect will be issued a warning once located.
Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
Spear arrested Eric Waite, 45, of Thomaston, on two outstanding arrest warrants. Subject was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jack responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in South Thomaston. Following this response, Kurt Ludwig, 48, of Thomaston, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence and operating without a license. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jack and Hills conducted a county wide operating under the influence detail. One arrest was made.
Following a traffic stop in St. George, Jack arrested Joe Maye, 49, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant and operating after suspension. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
June 6
Following a traffic stop in Rockport, Joslyn arrested Devon Palmer, age 19 of Camden on a charge of violating condition of release. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Jack arrested Jeffrey Colburn, 55, of Warren, on a charge of operating under the influence. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Rockport, Spear issued a summons for failure to register motor vehicle.
Hansen began an investigation of theft on North Haven. This is still an active investigation.
