ROCKLAND — The following cases were closed in Knox County Unified Court from July 17-21.

Carl D. Adams Jr., 35, of St. George, terrorizing, dismissed; terrorizing, 30 days in jail.

Tyler Barter, 23, of South Thomaston, criminal mischief, dismissed; disorderly conduct, loud unreasonable noise, $250 fine.

Rachel A. Booth, 27, of Rockland, domestic violence assault, dismissed; disorderly conduct, offensive words, gestures, $250 fine.

Samuel Brewer, 27, of Union, fishing without valid license, $100 fine.

Richard Butler, 68, of Rockland, probation violation, original conviction of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, two years, six months in prison, probation revoked; aggravated trafficking of schedule drugs, $400 fine, five years, one day in prison.

Bethany Carr, 31, of Rockland, operating while license suspended or revoked, $250 fine.

Amanda A. Cleary, 23, of Camden, operating under the influence (drugs or combination), $500 fine, license suspended 150 days; operating vehicle without license, dismissed.

Nicholas Cole, 31, of Rockland, operating after habitual offender revocation, $500 fine, 30 days in jail.

Jonathan B. Crowe, 34, of Belfast, operating while license suspended or revoked, prior, $500 fine.

Paul Davis, 31, of Bucksport, was sentenced to nine months in jail for a high-speed chase through Rockport, Camden and Belfast on March 29. Davis was sentenced in Knox County Unified Court to nine months in jail for eluding an officer. He received a concurrent sentence of 90 days in jail for driving to endanger, motor vehicle speeding 30 miles over the speed limit, criminal attempt, criminal trespass and failing to notify police of a motor vehicle accident. The charge of operating under the influence (alcohol) was dismissed. 3He was also ordered to pay a $575 fine and his license was suspended for 30 days.

According to Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne, the sequence of events started just before 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, at the intersection of routes 17 and 90 in Rockport. Knox County Regional Communications Center received a call about a male looking into windows at a bridal store there. Rockport Police Officer Dana Smith responded, and Knox RCC relayed that the man had reportedly been seen leaving the rear door of the shop, which had not been open for business.

The witness saw the male get into a car parked on Park Street. That witness attempted to engage the male in conversation to keep him in place until police arrived. Just as Smith pulled onto the scene, the man fled in his sedan, and in doing so, struck the witness’ own vehicle.

It was estimated that his speed reached 100 miles per hour at one point during the chase.

Camden Police Officers joined in the pursuit from various streets in Camden and Rockport.  Knox RCC transmitted a ‘A Be on the Lookout’ (BOLO) throughout the counties, and a short time later Davis was apprehended by Maine State Police in Belfast. Police smelled intoxicants on his breath, according to the court document. Smith took Davis into custody and transported him to the Knox County Jail in Rockland.

Joshua W. Dill, 25, of Stetson, assault on an emergency medical care provider, dismissed; unlawful possession of scheduled drug, $400 fine, 364 days in prison with all but 30 days suspended, probation one year; criminal trespass, 30 days in jail; disorderly conduct, loud unreasonable noise, 30 days in jail.

Shawnnarae C. Drayton, 36, of Montville, operating while license suspended or revoked, $500 fine, attaching false plates, $250 fine.

Brennan Dyer, 41, of Vinalhaven, probation violation, original conviction for unlawful possession of scheduled drug, 14 days in jail, probation partially revoked, probation continued.

Shane Elwell, 30, of Rockland, terrorizing, dismissed; harassment by telephone, $500 fine.

Cassie Fogg, 26, of Warren, violating condition of release, 24 hours in jail; domestic violence assault, dismissed; disorderly conduct, offensive works, gestures, $250 fine.

Adam Grierson, 31, of Rockland, domestic violence assault, no sentence imposed.

David A. Hall, 37, of Rockport, operating under the influence, $750 fine, license suspended 150 days.

Hillary Hannan, 29, of Rockland, operating vehicle without license, $150 fine.

Grace C. Jameson, 22, of Camden, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, $250 fine.

Dorothy Jeffers, 32, of Vinalhaven, allowing dog to be at large, $50 fine.

Shawn Michael Jones, 30, of Warren, burglary, two counts, no sentence imposed; failure to comply with sex offender registry act, first offence, $500 fine.

Adam Lachance, 39, of Rockport, failing to make oral or written accident report, $250 fine.

Theodore Larkin, 29, of Warren, assault, $500 fine, 15 days in jail; domestic violence assault, priors, dismissed.

Megan L. Lavoie, 27, of Rockland, operating under the influence (alcohol), $500 fine, license suspended 150 days.

Don McLean, 71, of Camden, domestic violence assault, dismissed; domestic violence criminal threatening, $1000 fine; criminal restraint, $1000 fine; criminal mischief, $1000 fine. Singer-songwriter Don McLean paid $3,660 in fines July 20 as the final condition of a deferred disposition agreement reached last year after he pleaded guilty in July 2016 to domestic violence charges originating from an assault on a woman at his Camden residence in January 2016.

One year later, on July 20, 2017, in a court hearing, the Office of the District Attorney agreed that McLean met the conditions of the deferred agreement and had a “good outcome,” which is terminology used by the District Attorney.

On July 21, 2016, McLean appeared before Justice William Stokes in Knox County Unified Court and pleaded guilty to domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening, criminal restraint, and criminal mischief as part of a deferred disposition agreement.

The additional charges of domestic violence terrorizing and obstructing the report of a crime were dismissed.

The deferred disposition agreement stipulated that if McLean complied with its terms for the following year, the domestic violence assault charge would be dismissed and the fine on the three remaining counts would be $1,000 each.

The specifics of the agreement included that McLean cannot commit any additional crimes at the federal, state or local level during the next year, must complete an evaluation and treatment as recommended for mental health, anger management, and domestic abuse within sixty days, cannot have any contact, either direct or indirect, with the victim, and pay an administrative fee of $10 per month.

Since the Office of the District Attorney agreed that McLean met the conditions of the deferred agreement during the past year, he received a good outcome and will not serve any jail time.

If McLean did not comply with the agreement, he could have faced an open plea on all four counts, including the domestic violence assault charge, according to the court documents.

Jed K. Miller, 41, of Tenants Harbor, fishing without valid license, $100 fine.

Jason Moholland, 43, of Rockport, violating condition of release, 90 days in jail.

Robert L. Morgan III, 48, of Camden, operating under the influence (alcohol), $500 fine, 72 hours inn jail, license suspended 150 days.

Richard G. Payson, 64, of Warren, probation violation for original conviction of operating under the influence (alcohol), one prior, 30 days in jail, probation partially revoked, probation continued; probation violation for original conviction of operating a vehicle without license-conditions/restrictions, seven days in jail.

Richard Peavey Jr., 41, of Brooks, failure to register vehicle, $250 fine.

Gregory S. Prior, 46, of Friendship, violating condition of release, 35 days in jail; violating condition of release, 35 days in jail; violating condition of release, two counts, releases; operating under the influence (drugs or combo), one prior, 35 days in jail, license suspended three years, registration suspended; unlawful possession of scheduled drug, dismissed; failing to make oral or written accident report, dismissed; failing to notify of motor vehicle accident, dismissed.

Andrew W. Pyznarski, 51, of Thomaston, attaching false plates, dismissed; failure to register vehicle, fine $150.

Molly B. Samuels, 21, of Searsmont, fishing without a valid license, $100 fine.

Christopher A. Seiler, 51, of Spruce Head, domestic violence criminal threatening, dismissed; domestic violence terrorizing, dismissed; domestic violence assault, six months in jail; criminal restraint, six months in jail; obstructing report of a crime, six months in jail; domestic violence criminal threatening, six months in jail; domestic violence terrorizing, six months in jail.

Justin A. Steeves, 31, of Rockland, was sentenced to five years in prison with all but six months suspended for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (knife), burglary and will serve three years of probation upon his release. He also received lesser concurrent sentences for terrorizing, criminal mishchief, violating a protection from abuse order and violating a condition of release. According to the court documents, the criminal threatening incident with a dangerous weapon occurred in Rockport on April 17 during a domestic dispute. The victim reported to police that the knife had a six-inch blade. Steeves was arrested by Rockland Police for a burglary at a woman’s home in Rockland.

Harold R. Tarbox, 26, of Ellsworth, probation violation, original conviction of domestic violence assault, 45 days in jail, probation partially revoked.

Sydney A. Aho Tran, 26, of Owls Head, operating after habitual offender revocation, $1000 fine, 120 days in jail.

Christian T. Wall, 20, of Rockland, violating condition of release, 96 hours in jail.

George Williams, 66, of Union, aggravated assault, dismissed, criminal mischief, dismissed, disorderly conduct, offensive words, gestures, $500 fine, restitution $778.91.

Michael R. Willis, 33, of South Thomaston, violating condition of release, seven days in jail; violating condition of release, 14 days in jail.

Steven A. Woodbury, 60, of Thomaston, was sentenced to 30 months in jail for domestic violence criminal threating with priors and domestic violence assault with priors and concurrent sentences for criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and loud unreasonable noise. According to the court documents, Woodbury was arrested on April 4 for trying to strangle a woman. The victim reported to police that Woodbury had been drinking, fallen asleep and then woke up angry. Along with assaulting the woman and threatening to kill her, he damaged a coffee table and refrigerator.
