Flash flood warnings issued for Knox, Waldo, Lincoln counties

With heavy rain on the horizon and the ground already saturated, the National Weather Service in Gray has issued a flash flood warning through Tuesday morning.
Thanks to a stalled weather system, one to two inches of heavy rainfall is expected tonight and tomorrow. The flash flood warning extends through most Maine and New Hampshire counties. Heavy rainfall may result in washed out roads, and rapid rise of rivers and streams.
Tonight's forecast calls for showers:
- The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Tuesday. Showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog before 9am. High near 67. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Tuesday night. Showers likely, mainly before 9pm. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 56. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Wednesday A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. North wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
- Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
- Independence Day. Partly sunny, with a high near 77.
- Thursday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
- Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
- Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.
- Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
- Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
- Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
- Sunday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
