Evening mishap damages Camden downtown storefront

CAMDEN — The driver thought she was pressing the brake, but instead stepped on the gas pedal, and rather than easing into a parking space, the Subaru gathered steam and slammed into the front wall of the Cutting Edge Hair Salon.
“She attempted to hit her brakes,” said Camden Police Lieutenant Michael Geary.
The driver and her passenger were uninjured in the incident that occurred at 7 p.m., June 25.
Steve Laite, owner of Camden Exxon, loaded and transported the damaged vehicle to a garage.
