Central Maine Power calls in 200 out-of-state crews to help restore electricity
Central Maine Power reported at 8:30 p.m., Oct. 17, that the severe storm barreling through Maine caused outages that affected 180,000 CMP customers.
“The company has nearly 200 crews in action and we expect at least another 200 additional crews from out-of-state to join our restoration effort,” CMP reported, in a news release. “The damage to the system is extensive and we are asking that customers prepare for a multi-day outage, particularly in coastal areas that were hardest hit by the storm.”
Currently, the outages are affecting more than 10,000 customers in Knox County and 2,647 in Waldo County.
