Celebrate Earth Day with an afternoon outdoors and engage in fun and beneficial activities to increase biodiversity conservation.
Roots n Shoots, Nature-Based After School program along with Stewardship Education Alliance S.E.A. and Wild Ones Midcoast Maine WOMM will host its annual Earth Day event on Sunday, April 21, between noon and 3 p.m. at 17 Spear St. Rockport. All are welcome for this free event.
Everyone is invited to learn methods to make your own yard a more supportive place for wildlife. Get your hands dirty as the group demonstrates how to select and plant native species, assemble a lasagne garden, create robust compost, harvest worms, build brush piles, feed the birds, meander nature trails, engage in art and play with a wild pet bunny Willa.
