Belfast Free Library offers two free computer classes in April 2025
BELFAST — The Belfast Free Library and the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) will be offering two free computer classes: “Introduction to Google Drive & Google Docs” on April 7, 8, and 9, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by “Cutting the Cord: Getting TV & Phone Services Over the Internet” on April 29, from 2 to 3 p.m.
The “Introduction to Google Drive & Google Docs” class is made up of three sessions, and attendees should plan on attending all three sessions, as each will build on knowledge learned in the previous. Attendees will learn how to store and manage their files online using Google Drive, as well as how to use the Google Docs platform to create documents.
This class series will take place on April 7, 8, and 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. Attendees should bring a device connected to the internet and should have an active Gmail account.
“Cutting the Cord” refers to the pattern of canceling cable or satellite services and being able to watch television shows online, as well as options that would allow for getting rid of a landline. This class will not only show attendees the wide variety of options out there, but also teach some tools to decide if cutting the cord is the right option.
This class will take place on April 29, from 2 to 3 p.m.
These classes are free to Maine residents, but space is limited and registration is required. To register for one or both of these classes, please go to the NDEC website at https://digitalequitycenter.org/classes/class_location/belfast-free-library/. These classes will take place in the library’s 3rd floor conference room.
