The 2nd Annual PAWS Poker Paddle event took place on Sunday, August 27th, 2023.
The event was hosted by PAWS Animal Adoption Center and held on Megunticook Lake. Participants enjoyed a morning filled with paddling on the vessel of their choice and fun in the sun, while also raising money for a good cause: animals in need.
"This event is so important to us because it gives us a chance to connect with our community in a different way and also help the animals," said Jan Abendroth, event organizer.
The winner of the event, Emily Printz, took home a custom made mini-paddle made by Libby Schrum, local woodworker.
