Blizzard warning Downeast, wind advisory for the Midcoast
GRAY – A blizzard warning persists Monday for Downeast Maine, while the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Midcoast through 8 p.m. this Presidents Day.
Sustained northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are in the forecast, with gusts up to 50 mph possible.
Today will bring patchy, blowing snow, with a high near 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 19 F. Winds will continue to blow, from the west, at 6-15 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain Tuesday after 3 p.m., with increasing clouds and a high near 40 F. Winds will be calm, south at 5 to 9 mph in the morning and southeast at 6 to 15 mph at night. The rain will continue overnight into Wednesday but a low around 32 F Tuesday night will create the opportunity for a mix of snow and rain into Wednesday morning, before 10 a.m.
Wednesday is forecast to be partly sunny, with a high near 36 F and west winds at 11 to 14 mph.
