LINCOLNVILLE — Lincolnville Police reported the following activity, Jan. 24-Feb. 7. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Jan 24
Chief Ron Young received a reported fraud complaint from a Beach Road business owner. The complaint remains under investigation.
Jan. 25
Chief Young responded to a reported property damage accident on Vancycle Road. Jeremy Howard, 34, of Hope was operating a 2004 Toyota Tundra when his vehicle slid off the private drive roadway due to slippery road conditions, striking a tree. Young reported no injuries and determined the vehicle to be a total loss.
Jan. 28
Chief Young received a complaint of an abandoned dirt bike on Atlantic Highway.
Chief Young spoke to students at Lincolnville Central School at the request of school staff.
Chief Young conducted an agency assist on Heal Road.
Jan. 29
Chief Young conducted an agency assist for Concord, N.H. Police Department in trying to locate a wanted person on Quarry Road. No contact was made.
Chief Young received a reported alarm activation complaint from a Nyoka Lane residence. Young was contacted by the security company the complaint was unfounded.
Jan. 30
Chief Young and Maine State Police Detective Bryant Jacques are investing a reported sex offense on Hope Road.
Chief Young received a report of a property damage accident on True Road. The incident occurred on private property and was determined non reportable. There were no injuries.
Chief Young received a civil complaint concerning ownership of a rifle on Beach Road. The complainant was referred to District Court for resolution.
Jan. 31
Chief Young responded to a reported disturbance complaint at Lincolnville Central School. Young reported an incident involving a student was resolved without incident.
Chief Young responded to a reported traffic hazard complaint on North Cobbtown Road, where a tree downed by heavy winds was blocking the roadway and was removed.
Feb. 4
Chief Young responded to an activated alarm on Atlantic Highway. The complaint was cancelled by the security company.
Feb. 5
Chief Young responded to a reported welfare check request on Heather Hill Road. The person was fine.
Chief Young conducted a public assist on Hope Road.
Chief Young responded to a reported fire in a wooded area on Belfast Road. Lincolnville Fire Department was on scene and is investigating the fire.
Feb. 6
Chief Young responded to a reported criminal trespass complaint on Brodis Road. The complaint was determined to be a utility worker who had the wrong address. No criminal activity was involved.

• Town and dog owners are asked to stop into the Town Office to license your dog. Effective Feb. 1, dogs licensed after that date are subject to a state mandated $25 late fee. The police department has also received several complaints of dogs being left tied outside without shelter in extreme temperatures. Dog owners are asked to ensure their pet(s) are safe by providing a warm environment in cold and inclement weather.
