Seen around Camden; National Weather Service lifts blizzard warning

CAMDEN —The National Weather Service's blizzard warning expired at 4 p.m. today and an hour before that, a special weather statement was issued warning of lingering wind gusts that can create areas of blowing and drifting snow on plowed roads.
"Caution is advised if travel is necessary this evening," according to the NWS.
Thus far, at 7 p.m., the wind continues to howl, though not quite as fiercely, and the snow continues to fall, albeit lightly.
Early Saturday evening, traffic remained non-existent on all but the primary roads, and even there plow trucks and municipal snow removal equipment dominated.
It was a good thing that people heeded copious warnings to stay off the roads, because they were snow-covered and not easy to maneuver, even in a large 4-wheel-drive F-250 pickup truck.
To cope with the monumental snow-removal task ahead of it, the city of Rockland extended its parking ban through noon Sunday, Feb. 10.
The weather tomorrow should be a great one, with bright sunny skies and temperatures reaching 27 degrees Fahrenheit. Northwest winds at 9 to 15 mph, though, will create wind chill values as low as minus six, so if you're heading to the Camden Snow Bowl for the 23rd annual U.S. National Toboggan Championships, which were postponed a day, bundle up to help stave off the cold.
