Waldoboro police beat: vehicles versus trees, medicine theft, flattened mailbox
WALDOBORO – Waldoboro police reported the following activity, Jan. 14 to Jan. 21. Waldoboro officers responded to 153 calls for service in this time period. Below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Jan. 16
Officer Sean Kozer investigated an accident on the North Nobleboro Road at 1:07 p.m. David Bowman, 68, of Waldoboro, was driving a 1996 GMC pickup truck, traveling east on the North Nobleboro Road. Angela Percival, 37, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet sedan, traveling west on the North Nobleboro Road. Both operators claim each other was in the wrong lane, the report said. They sideswiped each other as they passed. There were no injuries.
Officer Thomas Hoepner investigated an accident on the Union Road at 2:37 p.m. Linda Blackman, 60, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2004 Subaru sedan southbound on the Union Road when she left the right side of the road and hit a group of trees. There were no injuries.
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on the Dutch Neck Road at 8:25 p.m. Tammy Boyington, 42, of Bremen, was driving a 2004 GMC pickup truck north on the Dutch Neck Road when she went off the shoulder to the right and struck a tree. The tree pivoted the truck further off the road, causing it to strike another tree. There were no injuries.
Kozer investigated a complaint of harassing phone calls.
Jan. 19
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a residential burglary involving stolen money.
Jan. 20
Fuller investigated a complaint that a mailbox had been run over.
He also investigated the theft of items from a garage, as well as a separate theft of medication.
