Nor’easter has arrived, cancellations beginning
GRAY — Snow accumulations are expected to reach 8 to 12 inches today and tonight, with snow already falling in Camden and the Midcoast. School Thursday was canceled Wednesday night around the Midcoast, to avoid students being sent home early like they were on Tuesday.
Once the snow starts, it will pickup in become heavy and steady. This is a fast moving storm, according to the National Weather Service, with snow expected to end early in the evening. There will be a chance of snow showers between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Friday. Snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches possible during the day, with another 2 to 4 inches falling Thursday night before the now ends around 11 p.m.
The temperature will be around 24, but wind chill values as low as minus 1 possible. It will be blustery, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 40 mph.

Blustery, with a north wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 19. Wind chill values as low as -12. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Friday night - A 50 percent chance of snow showers after 11pm. Increasing clouds, with a low around 2. Wind chill values as low as -9. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
Saturday - Snow showers likely, mainly before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Saturday night - A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17.
Sunday - A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33.
Sunday night - Snow. Low around 29. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
EARLY CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS
• Camden Public Library is closing Thursday at noon.
• State Offices closed at noon.
• The Lincolnville Town Office will be closing Thursday at noon.
• The CJ Chenier concert, scheduled for Thursday night at the Camden Opera House, has been rescheduled to March 3. Ticket holders can use purchased tickets at the door; will-call tickets will be transferred to the new date; and refunds are available if desired by returning to place of purchase. • Mid-Coast Solid Waste transfer station is closing at noon Thursday. The facility is expected to open Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 a.m.
• Thursday nights Camden Hills Regional High School basketball games with Lawrence are postponed until Saturday. Times have not yet been confirmed.
• The Camden Town Offices will be closing Thursday at noon.
• Knox County Superior Court, Rockland District Court and Knox County Administrative Offices are closed Thursday.
• Maine State Legislature Senate and House sessions, public hearings and work sessions are canceled Thursday. Legislative offices will be open.
