Rockland City Council recognizes fire department’s Lt. Dennis Camber

ROCKLAND — During the June 8 Rockland City Council meeting, councilors recognized Lt. Dennis Camber of the Rockland Fire Department, for his 20 years of service to the community.
Councilor Will Clayton has known Camber for about 20 years.
He’s a “very incredible guy,” Clayton said. “On the City side, thank you. On a personal side, from somebody who has a family, thank you for what you do.”
In recognition of Camber’s service, Acting Fire Chief Adam Miceli spoke of Camber’s multiple job roles throughout the years. He has served as an officer, paramedic, and head of the hazmat team.
“He‘s always on the spot for us. He’s somebody that can be counted on time and again. And I have the personal satisfaction of being able to have him on my shift for many years....He’s been a great asset to our department,” Miceli said.
Councilor Louise MacLellan-Ruf said, ”A lot of times, we read something ‘20 years of service’ we know the faces. The faces we don’t often get to see are the families. So, not only to you, Dennis, but also to your family, congratulations on 20 years.”
Camber, in turn, recognized the first responders who attended the ceremony on Camber’s behalf.
“My hats off to everybody who works on the fire department, and I thank the citizens of Rockland for allowing me to do this.”
