Monroe woman arrested for using car, machete to damage family member’s home
MONROE — Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 38-year-old Monroe woman last month after allegedly determining she was the Jackson Road home of a family member destroying their property.
The Waldo County Dispatch Center received a 911 call May 18 at around 8:15 p.m., reporting a disturbance at the residence in Monroe
The 911 caller said that Tracey Oliver was at the residence destroying property, according to a press release.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Greeley and Deputy Dan Thompson responded to the call. Upon arrival, Thompson made contact with Oliver and detained her.
According to the press release, Thompson’s investigation determined that Oliver had come to the residence and used her vehicle and a machete to cause considerable damage to the property and residence. The residence belonged to a family member who Oliver said she was upset with.
Before deputies arrived on scene, a second family member had arrived at the home and Oliver allegedly threatened them with the machete.
Oliver was arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, and aggravated criminal mischief. Bail was set at $5,000 cash.
