Multi-car rear-ender snarls traffic at Dunkin' Donuts






ROCKLAND — No hospital transports were needed in a chain reaction collision on Camden Street in Rockland in the late morning, Sept. 27; however, the four cars involved sustained damages.
A Chevy pickup, operated by Joseph DiNapoli, 23, of Cushing, plowed into the rear of a Volkswagen stationwagon, pushing it into a Subaru Forester, which then pushed into the back of a Toyota Tacoma pickup, according to Rockland Sgt. Tony Camporiale.
He said the accident occurred when Dodge, Dienish-Calamari and Pathik, traveling north on Route 1, had stopped for a vehicle turning left into Dunkin' Donuts. DiNapoli failed to stop.
The driver of the Volkswagen, Karen Dienish-Calamari, 51, of Owls Head, and the driver of the Subaru, Ann Pathik, 43, of Owls Head, suffered minor injuries. Rockland Fire and Rescue emergency response personnel evaluated them at the scene. F. Edward Dodge, 73, of Owls Head,who was driving the Tacoma, was uninjured.
The Volkswagen sustained damages estimated at $6,500; Subaru, $3,500; Tacoma pickup, $1,800; and the Chevy, $1,500.
The accident remains under investigation.
