Edward Tosswill sentenced to serve more jail time
ROCKLAND — A Camden man convicted of trafficking in cocaine and later charged with failing to report to begin serving his prison term in June was ordered to spend more time behind bars.
On Aug. 28, Edward Tosswill, 57, was sentenced to serve an additional nine months in prison for not showing up to begin serving a two-year sentence. Tosswill pleaded no contest March 16 to three charges of unlawful trafficking in cocaine in Camden on three occasions in 2010. Following his plea, Tosswill was sentenced to four years in prison, with all but two years suspended and two years of probation.
Tosswill was also fined $400 and ordered to forfeit $1,680 as restitution. In his original indictment, he was also charged with criminal forfeiture of $15,683 cash, money that was exchanged for drugs, and a 1994 Toyota Camry station wagon, which was said to have been used in the transport, sale, trafficking, furnishing, receipt and/or possession of drugs, according to court documents.
After not appearing to begin serving his original sentence, Tosswill was located and arrested June 18. He pleaded guilty after appearing in court Aug. 28. The nine-month sentence is to be served non-concurrent to the original two-year sentence, and interrupts the current sentence, according to court documents.
