.John 'Jack' Farley Whitney Jr.
CUSHING — John “Jack” Farley Whitney Jr., 95, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Born on June 3, 1917 in Newton, Massachusetts, he was the son of John F. and Carol M. (Tippett) Whitney, and attended private schools. In spite of his life-long health issues, he did very well. He enjoyed various types of puzzles including crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Since 1986, he had resided at The Homestead in Cushing.
Surviving is his sister, Margaret Johnson of South Thomaston; two nephews, Richard Johnson of Stuart, Fla.; Murdoch Johnson of North Easton, Mass.; and a niece, Pamela Newman. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Murdoch Johnson.
Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Village Cemetery in South Thomaston. Condolences may be shared with the Johnson family by visiting their book of memories at www.longfuneralhomecamden.com.
