CAMDEN - Leila P. Crosman, 92, was born in Chicago, Ill., July 7, 1920 and died Sept. 1, 2012, at Quarry Hill Retirement Community in Camden. She was the last surviving child of James and Leila Williams Pomeroy.

She was a homemaker who had a continuing interest in participating and volunteering in community activities. She attended the University of Virginia, Northern Virginia branch. Among numerous part- and full-time positions, she worked at the Washington Post newspaper and retired from Washington National Cathedral in 1990 after serving 20 years as assistant head of the Altar Guild.

She was married to John Byron Crosman for 57 years; he died in 2000. Her son from a previous marriage, Edward "Ted" also predeceased her. Mrs. Crosman leaves two children, Christopher Crosman, former director of the Farnsworth Art Museum, and Sara Kane, an employee with General Motors Corporation; three grandchildren, Anne, Ben and Will; and four grandchildren from a previous marriage, Andrea, Philip, Scott and Susan.

She will be buried with her husband, a World War II Air Force officer and career civil servant with the Central Intelligence Agency, in Arlington National Cemetery, preceded by a service at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Arlington, Va., at a date to be determined.
