Betty Aube Chapman
OWLS HEAD – Betty Aube Chapman, 79, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport after an extended illness.
Born in Jonesport on April 27, 1933, she was the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Faulkingham Davis. Betty was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Jonesport High School.
Most of her life, Betty lived and worked in Rockland, where for many years she worked at Port Clyde Foods. With her former husband Joe Aube, she also owned and operated Betty Restaurant in Northport.
Betty enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, camping and being surrounded by family and friends. She also loved canning and loved all animals, especially her two dogs, Fox and Missy.
She was the mother of seven children, including Lola Chickering and her companion, Paul Salo, of Owls Head, David Connors and his wife, Linda, of Searsport, Tommy Connors Jr. of Portland, and Laura Billings and her husband, Edward, of Washington. She was pre-deceased by three sons, Daryl Small, Donald Small and Cecil Connors; and one grandson, David Small. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and longtime family friends, Christine Berger and Joanne Willey.
