2025 Youth Poetry Contest at Belfast Free Library
BELFAST — The Belfast Free Library invites youth to celebrate National Poetry Month. Waldo County children and teens are invited to write poems on the theme of “Fast Forward: Poems from the Future.”
Include author name, grade/age, school and contact information in the submission. To submit poems, or for more information, write to: sholman@belfastlibrary.org or stop by the 2nd floor of the library.
Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up in different age categories. Winners and runners-up will have the opportunity to share their poems at a headline event at the 2025 Belfast Poetry Festival in October.
The deadline date for poem submission is Wednesday, April 30.
A reception and reading (where all are invited to read their work) will be held on May 5, from 4 - 5 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street, Belfast.
