'Live Outside the Library' concert series 2025 schedule
SEARSMONT — Searsmont Town Library's concert series 'Live Outside the Library' has a full schedule for 2025 beginning in April and running through September.
"The series, which always features a wide range of music genres and traditions, is a way to spend leisure time in interior Waldo County," said the Library, in a news release.
This year kicks off with talented young singer-songwriter Reese Fulmer (April 11), coming to Waldo County from Saratoga Springs, New York.
Audience members will have a chance to see Sara Trunzo and Jud Caswell, each performing with a group.
One of Maine's premier folk groups, the Pine Tree Flyers, visits in July; and August concerts feature the Maine Middle Eastern Ensemble, and Novel Jazz Septet playing the music of Ellington and Strayhorn.
In September, Halcyon String Quartet is producing a new work, titled Ghost Apples, by composer Nathan Davis and Maine Poet Laureate Julia Bouwsma.
The season wraps up with a Belfast Flying Shoes Community Dance and Potluck.
The concerts run 60-90 minutes and begin at 4 p.m., "so there's still plenty of light to drive home or go catch a meal at one of the local restaurants or breweries," said the Library.
"As many concerts as possible will be held outdoors on the lawn of the Community Building that houses the library, but if the weather doesn't cooperate, concerts will take place in the main hall of the building," said the release.
Bring a camp chair or blanket for outdoor music.
All programs are free to the public and are made possible by the Friends of Searsmont Library, fundraising by the library's Board of Trustees, and generous support from the Onion Foundation.
