The Drowsy Chaperone Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a “musical within a comedy” that both satirizes and pays homage to the wildest and wackiest era of Broadway: the “Golden Age” of the 1920s. The ingenious narrative framework has the audience brought into the musical through the eyes of an adoring fan, as one of his favorite old records comes to life in his living room.
