Maine State Police Troop D beat
AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity, April 16-21. Below are some of the highlights, as reported by the agency. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
April 16
Trooper Bethany Robinson responded to a vehicle off the road at the intersection of Route 139 and Webb Road in Brooks. There was damage to the vehicle and the operator had left the scene. Gabriel Smith, 32, of Unity, was later located and summonsed for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Troopers Donald Webber and Benjamin Sweeney conducted a bail check on David Teixeira, 32, on Moosehead Trail in Jackson. Violations were found and Teixeira was given a summons for violation of conditions. Teixeira's girlfriend, Vannessa Gallant, 25, was also found to be in possession of contraband and was given a summons for sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
April 17
Trooper Corey Smith responded to a residence in Troy after a citizen reported a suspicious propane leak. The investigation is ongoing.
Trooper Smith initiated a theft investigation in Freedom after a resident reported the theft of a Parmak solar electric fence charger and an 82-foot by 4-foot portable electric fence.
Trooper Smith helped to resolve a family dispute in Troy involving the sale of a truck.
Trooper Mark Ferreira stopped Steven Lund, 44, of Richmond, on Maine Avenue in Farmingdale for not wearing a seat belt. Lund was ultimately issued a summons for operating after suspension.
April 19
Trooper Ferreira stopped Joshua Mayo, 19, of Winslow, on Maine Avenue in Farmingdale for not wearing a seat belt. Mayo was ultimately issued a summons for operating after suspension.
Troopers Desiree Wuthenow and Bethany Robinson responded to South Freedom Road in Albion for a complaint of a suicidal male. The male was not located and a file was put out to locate him to check his well-being. The investigation continues.
Troopers Elisha Fowlie and Thomas Bureau stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 3 in China. Justin B. Pinkham, 26, was subsequently charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and issued a summons for speeding.
Trooper Kyle Pelletier responded to Mann Road in China for a domestic disturbance. The parties were engaged in a verbal argument over the cleanliness of their residence. No assaults occurred and both parties agreed to separate for the day.
April 20
Trooper Pelletier stopped Darren Gilbert, 45, on Route3 in China for operating a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. The registration tag affixed on the vehicle Gilbert was driving did not match the Bureau of Motor Vehicle's records. Gilbert was issued a summons for attaching false plates and released.
Trooper Pelletier responded to Route 17 in Windsor to a reported motor vehicle crash. Samantha Bellavance, 29, appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants and she was issued a summons for OUI. Trooper Pelletier was assisted by Troopers Christopher Rogers and Seth Allen.
Trooper Niles Krech was driving over the Memorial Bridge in Augusta when he noticed two vehicles speeding in a posted 25 mph zone. Trooper Krech stopped one of the vehicles, operated by Adam Giroux, 25, who was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence and released to a sober person.
Trooper Krech stopped a vehicle for speeding on Windsor Road in Chelsea. Following an investigation, Stacy Hustus, 45, was arrested and taken to Kennebec County Jail on the charge of operating under the influence.
Trooper Ferreira stopped Priscilla Dugas-Weaver, 59, of Warren on Route 1 in Warren for displaying an expired inspection sticker. Further investigation revealed that Dugas-Weaver's vehicle was not registered. Priscilla was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle unregistered greater than 150 days.
Troopers Bureau and Robinson responded to Mann Road in China for an assault. The victim said an unknown male came into her residence and held her to the floor while a female punched her in the face. The investigation continues.
Troopers Evan Teel and Bethany Robinson responded to Jacy Place in Unity for a reported family fight. The complainant reported her ex-boyfriend had threatened to kick the door down to see his child. It was determined no assaults had taken place. David Duff, 50, was at the residence and was subsequently arrested on two warrants.
April 21
Trooper Robinson received a report from a complainant in Brooks regarding his 13-year-old daughter receiving a message via Facebook from a juvenile male friend asking for nude photographs of her. Facebook records indicate that the juvenile male's Facebook account may have been used by someone else and the investigation continues.
Trooper Fowlie arrested James Lee, 31, on a warrant in China.
Troopers Erin Ball and Greg Stevens responded to a complaint of criminal mischief on Windsor Road in Chelsea. The investigation is ongoing.
Trooper Webber responded to Pleasant View Ridge Road in China to a report of an elderly gentleman who had passed away.
Troopers Donald Webber and Dane Wing located Richard Libby, 47, in Sidney on an outstanding warrant. Libby was transported to the Kennebec County Jail, where he is being held on $20,000 cash bail.
