Rockland police officer promoted to rank of patrol sergeant
ROCKLAND — Rockland police officer Scott Redmun has been promoted to the rank of patrol sergeant.
He was recognized for his promotion at a ceremony at the Rockland police station July 31.
Redmun is a four-year veteran of the police department and has a total of six years full time law enforcement experience.
During his four years with the department, he has distinguished himself with his professionalism and commitment to the agency and community, according to a news release from Police Chief Chris Young.
Redmun holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice, is a Maine Criminal Justice Academy certified field training officer and firearms instructor.
He has been awarded the Rockland Police Department’s Life Saving Award for actions taken at an incident which occurred in Rockland in 2015.
“I can best describe Scott as a consummate professional who holds himself to the highest standards and expects nothing less from his supervisors, peers and subordinates,” Young stated in the release. “I am confident that Scott’s promotion to patrol sergeant is going to benefit not only the agency, but the community as whole for years to come.”
