Waldoboro Police beat: Accidents, arrest warrant
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 143 calls for service from Sept. 25-Oct. 3. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sept. 25
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident in the Irving Parking lot at 6:49 p.m. Jeffrey Wright, 64, of Nobleboro, was driving a GMC pickup truck. Robert Keene, 46, of Union, was driving a 2002 Toyota sedan. Wright was traveling southbound, entered a parked position and failed to yield the right of way. Keene was traveling southbound, entered a parked position, improperly backing in his car. Both vehicles collided. No injuries were reported.
Sept. 26
Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen about stolen tools from a job site.
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on Jefferson Street at 2:56 p.m. James Letteney, 35, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2010 Toyota sedan. Leah Murdoch, 31, of Nobleboro, was driving a 2011 Ford sedan. Letteney failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming vehicle driven by Murdoch while backing out of a parking space and onto the roadway. Letteney’s vehicle hit Murdoch’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Sept. 27
Shawn Brewer, 35, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek on a warrant.
Sept. 28
Officer Justin Hills is investigating a report a citizen about a stolen wallet and medication.
Sept. 29
Fuller investigated an accident on Winslow’s Mills Road at 9:11 a.m. William Robinson, 90, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2004 Saturn utility vehicle. Ruth Barter, 79, of Jefferson, was driving a 2012 Nissan sedan. Robinson backed out of a driveway and struck Barter’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 9:55 a.m. Ellie Adams, 35, of Warren, was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Adams hit a lip in the pavement from a work zone, lost control of her motorcycle, coming to stop on the ground. Injuries were reported.
Fuller investigated an accident at the Main Street/Bremen Road and Kalers Corner intersection at 1:03 p.m. Connie Alvarado, 50, of Farmingdale, was driving a 2005 Buick sedan. Michael Dodge, 25, of Rockland, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet sedan. Alvarado failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle driven by Dodge, striking him in the front. No injuries were reported.
