Katherine Chase, obituary
WARREN — Katherine A. "Kitty" Chase, 66, of Warren, died Feb. 15, 2013, at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Born in Camden Sept. 16, 1946, she was the daughter of James A. and Helen E. (Small) Smith. She attended Camden High School and married Phillip H. Chase July 18, 1970, in Rockport.
Katherine had been employed at the former Getty Mart on Commercial Street in Rockport during its years of operation. She owned and operated Chase's Seafood with her husband for many years, selling fresh seafood and vegetables from their truck in the Belfast area. For more than 30 years, they lived in East Union and for the past four years, she resided with her daughter in Warren.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, who died June 5, 2007. Surviving are her three children, Wanda Owen and husband, Wayne, of Morrill, Phillip H. Chase Jr. and his wife, Genie, and Rusty Wadsworth and her husband, Scott, all of Warren; here grandchildren; Karynn, Michael, Gregory and Stacy Wadsworth, and James, Josh and Lacy Owens; her brother, Leon Smith and his wife, Juanita, of Rockport; her sister, Donna Rich and her husband, Dave, of Hope; a special brother-in-law, Tom Chase of Milbridge; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her beloved dog, Jake.
A spring graveside service will be held at the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Augusta and will be announced.
