Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen dirt bike, accidents
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 118 calls for service from June 12-19. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
June 12
Officer Jeffery Fuller arrested Stephen Benner, 30, of Nobleboro, for violation of a protection order.
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway, at 3:54 p.m. Thomas Bundza, 66, of Greencastle, Ind., was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle with a passenger, Judith Bundza. He was traveling southbound making a right turn into a business. Bundza's vehicle had been damaged in an earlier accident and damage from that accident caused him to crash motorcycle. Injuries were reported.
June 13
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from Moose Crossing that someone stole two bags of soil valued $70.
Matthew Woods, 52, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Justin Hills for operating under the influence and aggravated reckless conduct.
June 14
Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Winslows Mills Road, at 3:15 p.m. Steven Rackliff, 57, of Waldoboro, was driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck with a passenger Taylour Daniello. (The spelling is correct according to accident report). Rackliff was traveling southbound, following the roadway and driving too fast for the conditions. The driver hydroplaned and his vehicle left the roadway on the right, hitting a tree stump and flipping end for end, coming to rest on its roof. Injuries were reported.
June 15
Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen of the theft of a lock box safe from her truck.
Fuller is investigating a report from the Big Apple of the theft of a cup of coffee for the second time by the same person.
June 19
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of a stolen dirt bike from his front lawn.
