Waldoboro Police beat: Stolen camper, arrest warrant, accidents
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 266 calls for service from Aug. 9-22. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Aug. 11
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Union Road at 7:05 a.m. Pamela Thibodeau 65, of Warren, was traveling southbound on the Union Road when a deer ran into the side of her vehicle.
Aug. 12
Fuller investigated an accident on the Winslow’s Mills Road at 8:31 a.m. The operator of a tractor was motioning with her arm that she was making a left turn. Paul Golden, 47, of Waldoboro, was traveling southbound behind the tractor and thought the other driver was waving him to come around and pass her. As he was passing the vehicle, he struck the rear tire on the tractor, causing him to go off the road, coming to rest against a utility pole.
Philip Libby, Jr., 53, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Thomas Bartunek for operating under the influence and violation of conditional release.
Aug. 13
Officer Nathaniel Jack investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 10:25 a.m. Jennifer Waldron, 49, of Waldoboro, was traveling southbound overtaking, passing on the right, striking Adreane Winchenbach, 75, of Thomaston, who was traveling southbound, making a right turn into a driveway.
Robert Burgess, 31, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Jack for a probation violation and stealing drugs.
Aug. 14
Timothy Harrington, 49, of Houston, Texas, was issued a summons by Officer Justin Hills for failure to register a motor vehicle.
Aug. 19
John Call, 50, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Dwight Jones on a warrant and criminal mischief.
Aug. 22
Jack investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 10:25 a.m. Randy Raymond, 60, of Monroe, was traveling southbound, following the roadway and struck Valerie Shackett, 22, of Waldoboro, who was stopped in traffic.
Chief John Lash is investigating a report from a citizen about a stolen camper.
Todd Dodge, 46, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Sgt. Jamie Wilson for disorderly conduct.
