Waldoboro Police beat: Multiple accidents, arrest warrants
WALDOBORO —Waldoboro police responded to 94 calls for service from Aug. 22-29. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Aug. 22
Jeremy Johnson, 45, of Friendship, was arrested by Officer Tom Bartunek on a warrant
Aug. 23
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone broke into his residence and stole items valued at $1100.
Hesseltine investigated an accident at the intersection of Jefferson Street/Atlantic Highway at 11:30 a.m. Barry Soule, 69, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck. Hilary Thibodeau, 29, of Portland, was driving a 2010 Honda sedan. Soule was travelling southbound, backing up and disregarded other traffic sign. Soule attempted to go around traffic cones into a blocked off area and when he was told he could not go that way, he backed up and backed into Thibodeau’s vehicle. Thibodeau was travelling southbound and stopped in traffic. No injuries were reported.
Chief William Labombarde investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway (at the Family Dollar Store) at 11:30 a.m. Tasha Ryder, 25, of Warren, was driving a 2005 Lincoln sedan. While her vehicle was parked legally, an unknown person struck the vehicle, causing damage.
Bartunek investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 4:43 p.m. Eleanor Simmons, 73, was driving a 2016 Toyota utility vehicle. Corey Dempsey, 42, was driving a 2004 Toyota sedan. Simmons was traveling southbound, making a left turn and failed to yield the right of way. Dempsey was traveling northbound on the Bremen Road, following the roadway. No injuries were reported.
Aug. 24
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone stole medication from his vehicle.

Bartunek investigated an accident on the Winslows Mills Road at 8:38 p.m. Kyelee Hurlburton, 24, of Nobleboro, was driving a 2008 Ford sedan. Hurlburton was travelling northbound, following the roadway. An unknown dark colored minivan hit her from behind and continued on towards Jefferson.
Aug. 26
Gary Demmons, 61, of Rockland, was arrested by Officer William Bragg on a warrant.
Aug. 27
Sgt. Jamie Wilson investigated an accident on Main Street in the parking lot of the Sproul Block. Terry Bramhall, 55, of Friendship, was operating a 2014 Chevrolet medium/heavy truck. William Labombarde, 60, of Friendship, was driving a 2015 Ford, utility vehicle. Bramwell was parked in the Sproul Block parking lot, behind Labombarde’s vehicle which was unoccupied. Bramwell pulled ahead to go around Labombarde’s vehicle and struck him in the rear driver’s side quarter panel. No injuries were reported.
Labombarde investigated a complaint from a citizen of harassing text messages. Subject was found and warned.

Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of damage done to his lawn by a motor vehicle.
