Waldoboro police beat: assaults, accidents, marijuana
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 163 calls for service from Feb. 28 to March 5. What follows are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Feb. 26
Officer Thomas Bartunek summonsed Gordon Webster, 41, of Waldoboro, for operating under the influence.
Officer Jeremy Joslyn arrested Jeremy Carey, 35, of Waldoboro, for domestic violence assault.
Feb. 27
Officer Thomas Bartunek and Detective Jason Benefield are investigating a burglary report.
Feb. 28
Officer Sean Kozer investigated an accident on the Winslows Mills Road at 6:26 a.m. According to the report, Jonathan Achorn, 30, of Friendship, was driving a 2004 Dodge pickup truck northbound on Winslows Mills Road. Due to weather conditions, he lost control and went off the roadway to the right, spun sideways, went down an embankment and into a brook. There were no injuries.
Officer Thomas Hoepner summonsed a 12-year-old male, of Waldoboro, for assault and terrorizing.
March 1
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating the theft of a cellphone.
Officer Thomas Hoepner summonsed a 13-year-old female, from Union, for possession of marijuana.
Officer Sean Kozer investigated an accident at the Chapel Road/Feyler's Corner intersection at 4:31 p.m. According to the report, Caleb Corbin, 18, of Nobleboro, was driving a 20008 Dodge van. Nicole Thomas, 19, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck northbound on Feyler's Corner Road. Corbin was stopped at the stop sign on Chapel Road, and turned left onto the Feyler's Corner Rd as Thomas was going through the intersection. They collided. Injuries are indicated.
March 3
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an unwanted person complaint. The subject was found and warned on harassment.
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle.
