Vinalhaven to gather in field for community conversation about law enforcement

VINALHAVEN — Following the recent town meeting vote not to fund Knox County Sheriff’s Office island patrol, the Town of Vinalhaven will now discuss next steps.
On July 30, at 5 p.m., in a field across from the Vinalhaven Library, the Board of Selectmen will convene a workshop to address citizens’ expectations.
The agenda follows:

- Law Enforcement WorkshopGoal: Determine what level of law enforcement is expected and/or suitable for Vinalhaven.

- What do citizens of VH expect for law enforcement services?

- This meeting is intended to be a community forum to gather information relating to law enforcement on the island. Please read below for more information.
