Trio of Midcoast residents nominated to positions by Gov. Mills

AUGUSTA — The Maine Senate will convene for a confirmation session Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. to vote on a series of nominations made by Governor Janet Mills.
Local new nominations include Paul Shepherd of Belfast (Maine State Housing Authority) and The Honorable Sean Ociepka of Belfast (Maine District Court). Laura Buxbaum of Waldoboro has been renominated to continue serving with the Maine State Housing Authority.
Confirmation hearings on each nominee will be held by the legislative committee of jurisdiction before the Senate convenes next week.
The Maine Constitution requires an affirmative vote from two-thirds of the members present to overturn a committee’s recommendation.
