Thomaston Public Library friendly naming contest for book cart
THOMASTON — The Thomaston Public Library is calling on the creativity of the community to help give one of its book carts a brand-new name. The library is inviting patrons of all ages to submit name suggestions from June 1 through June 20 as part of a friendly naming contest.
Name ideas should be inspired by books, libraries, literature, or Maine, and should be appropriate for all ages. Participants may submit as many names as they wish, but each suggestion must be submitted using a separate form.
After the submission period closes, library staff and volunteers will select a group of finalists for the community to vote on in person throughout the month of July. Voting will take place inside the library, and the winning name will be announced in August.
“We’re excited to see what people come up with,” said Head Librarian Caroline Ward-Nesbit. “This is a fun way to engage the community and let our book cart become a little piece of Thomaston’s creative spirit.”
The submission form is available online at https://forms.office.com/r/vCDWe4tRb1 and can also be access from the Thomaston Public Library's website, https://www.thomaston.lib.me.us/. All are encouraged to participate and help the book cart roll into its new identity with style.
