Teenager struck while walking in Rockland crosswalk
ROCKLAND — Haley Robinson, 18, of Rockland, was hit by a pickup truck early Friday evening while she was walking in a crosswalk in the city.
Robinson was crossing Camden Street (Route 1) near the Circle-K store and Waldo Avenue intersection when she was struck by a Toyota Tacoma pickup being driven by 47-year-old Steven Klasson of China.
Klasson said visibility was not good at the time, due to the rain and glare of oncoming headlights, according to Rockland Police Sgt. Ken Smith.
Smith said Rockland EMS responded and took Robinson to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, where she was treated for broken bones.
"Her injuries were not life threatening," said Smith.
Smith said there were no charges following the accident.
