State police arrest Rockport man for unlawful sexual contact, again
ROCKPORT — A lifetime registrant on Maine's Sex Offender list was arrested March 21 for a similar offense. He made his first court appearance today where the judge increased his bail to $50,000 and continued the case to April 24.
Maine State Police charged 54-year-old Arthur "Ron" Dodge, of Rockport, with gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact, according to a news release from State Police spokesman Steve McCausland.
Detectives arrested Dodge at his house at 66 Chickawaukie Pond Road without incident. He was transported to the Knox County Jail and was being held on $25,000 bail. The victim is a teenage girl from the local area and the assault took place at Dodge's home last year, McCausland said. Dodge was convicted in 1990 of unlawful sexual contact and is required to be on the sex offender list for the rest of his life.
