Pope Memorial Humane Society needs help
Over the last two days, Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, in Thomaston, received 29 cats, all from just one household. All the cats need of help and we expect more to arrive. Sadly, as sometimes happens, someone with all the best of intentions became overwhelmed and living conditions deteriorated as the home became overrun with pets. The humane society offered to help and take these cats in but as you can imagine, such a sudden influx of cats taxes the humane society's resources. It is gladly accepting donations of canned cat food, dry food, kitty litter and financial contributions for medical care to give these cats a second chance. The humane society is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
